SOU 2022 Covid-19 Guidelines

More Than Just Great Dancing!® has always been a leader in safety. Studio Owner University® (SOU) will follow the More Than Just Great Dancing!® Safer Studio Guidelines which prioritizes a hierarchy of safety and wellness measures including:

  • Frequent hand hygiene
  • Enhanced cleaning procedures
  • Practicing social distancing when possible
  • Facility adjustments
  • Continuous team communications

Our Venue and a Special Note from Misty

We chose to move our event to our home state of Wisconsin, and we specifically rented an entire property (The Swan Barn Door) so that we could make our own determinations regarding safety protocols. You should know that I will be speaking without a mask, both to provide the best learning experience possible for you, and to save my voice. I am vaccinated (and caffeinated!). I share this only because I’m hopeful that in doing so it will help members feel comfortable around me as I circulate (I’m not one to stay on a stage:). I will, however, wear a mask under my chin while walking around and will mirror your masking choices when I am near you. If you have a mask on, I will put mine up as well<3. We have built our event around choice. If you are comfortable coming, you have the choice to sit with your peers or off to the side; masks are recommended, but not required. If you are uncomfortable meeting in groups at this point, we have also invested in a professional live stream! Please feel welcome to watch from the comfort of your home. You are all adults and we trust that you will make the best choice for YOU. We love you and will deliver awesome content whether you attend live or watch from home. SOU will be held in Adams County Wisconsin which as of today (Oct 5th 2021) masks are recommended but not required in local restaurants, hotels, etc.

Illness Policy

Please do not come to SOU if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, respiratory distress, have had COVID-19 exposure, symptoms, or have been around someone who has had COVID-19. Upon entering the building, wash or sanitize your hands.

International travelers should expect enhanced safety measures in place at the border crossing. Please plan accordingly and connect with MTJGD staff if you need assistance.

If you test positive for COVID-19, please report to the Adams County Health Department. The COVID-19 situation is still evolving and MTJGD will be making real-time decisions regarding the situation as it progresses. Updates to this section will be made by email.

From the Swan Barn Door:

The health and safety of our employees and guests are always at the forefront of our minds. With that in mind, we want you to know what steps we are taking to keep you safe.

We have updated our employee code of conduct to reflect mandates from Public Health Adams County and recommendations from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. Updates include employee self-monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms, including reporting to management of any symptoms, diagnoses, and recent contact with anyone known to have tested positive for the purpose of excluding from work during the 14 day quarantine period; use of face masks; enhanced sanitation procedures; new table bussing procedures and more.

We will, of course, continue to operate at a safe capacity to allow for proper social distancing. Our venue is quite large with a legal capacity of 850. Even with proper social distancing, we are able to accommodate over 400 guests safely inside.
